Prenatals

I am currently taking a multivitamin.  It's a gummy vitamin.  Yep, it's shaped like little fat gummy bears and tastes like candy.  And it's for adults.  It's a win win.  I absolutely hate swallowing pills.  I do it, but I don't enjoy it.  So anything I can do to make it easier and yummier - bring it on!

Alicia decided I needed to be taking prenatals.  I agree.  I should have been doing this long ago but the prescription I had for chewable prenatals ran out and I wasn't exactly running to get something that I had to swallow.  I didn't tell her this though.  Just agreed and willingly accepted the bag of samples that she brought home from her office.  I opened them up tonight and realized it was the CitraNatal DHA.  Which means 1 tablet and 1 capsule.  AUGH!  I was a good patient and took them both - and I will continue to take them daily because that's what all good mom's to be do, right?  I also noticed that they contain docusate, a stool softener.  I'm already taking 2,000 mg of metformin.  I really don't think a stool softener is necessary!  We shall see.  Hopefully I won't be coming here with any embarrasing poo stories anytime soon.

For now, I will leave you with a photo of the bag the prenatals were in.  It proudly proclaims, "You're having a baby!"  Let's all hope this ends up being true.

P.S.  Chewable birth control pills are NOT yummy.  I much more prefer to torture myself by swallowing those rather than chewing up the awful thing.  Maybe I can stick it in my gummy multivitamin and trick myself into taking it - you know...kinda like you have to do to your dogs and cats to make them take medications?

  1. I had no idea they made chewable vitamins for adults! What a great idea!

  2. I always wondered why the prenatal vitamins have to be so HUGE. It's like swallowing a horse pill!! While the stool softener doesn't seem necessary now, you are going to LOVE it once you're pregnant :) Not being able to poop is the absolute worst feeling. I'd rather have the runs than constipation any day. Okay, probably TMI...sorry!
