To start if off, I wore my ugly shirt. Sort of inspired by this post. Actually, I was running out of options in my closet so I grabbed a shirt that I received as a Christmas present. I have only worn it a couple of times since I got it. It's not completely terrible. It fits nicely and all - I just feel like I've aged 30 years when I wear it. It's very.....geriatric.
Anyway, I figured I would wear it. I was working in our clinic so I would only be with a couple other co-workers and everyone else I would be seeing would be our largely geriatric population. I figured I would appeal to their style. :) Along with the shirt, I also took a quick shower without washing my hair. So my hair was out of control frizzy. But today I just didn't care.
Towards the end of the day I had a patient who is in his 40's. The crazy thing is, he has a baby face and if I didn't know when his birth date was I would have bet money on him being in his late 20's or early 30's. I have seen him once before and he is fairly new to our office. After I met with him, he pulled the office guy (an acquaintance of his) out of the office and told him how hot he thought I was and asked if he should ask me out. The office guy told him that I was married. I'm not sure how the rest of the conversation went. I do know that the patient came back to my office and asked if he left his keys in there. I honestly barely looked up. I glanced around the desk, looked on the floor and said, "I don't see anything." Next thing I know he is saying, "I know you're married and all but if you ever wanna just hang out, give me a call." Oh My Gosh. Talk about awkward. But it was also oddly flattering. Geriatric shirt, frizzy hair and all.
