So tired

Oh my gosh.  I have not been sleeping well at all.  I was so exhausted this morning that I almost called in sick.  It has been over a year since I have called in sick.  I never do it, even when I feel absolutely horrible.  I feel so guilty.  So the fact that I was soo close to doing it this morning has to tell you something!

After work I had about an hour before I had to leave.  I went to a very nice restaurant for a dinner hosted by a drug rep.  We had to listen to a physician talk about a study while we ate, but the dinner was worth it.  We were given a little bit of time prior to and after the discussion to hang out and chat.  After the talk, the physician sat at our table and we talked about all kinds of different medications and learned so much from him.  I could have sat there all night!

Ok, honestly I drank a LOT of wine.  :)  Hey, it was free...can you blame me?  I just kept finishing off my glass like a good girl and they kept coming to refill it - I'm not gonna stop them!  So by the time dessert came I was feeling pretty good!  I'm hoping it will help me sleep tonight!

I just calculated my meal.  Iceberg salad, filet mignon, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, chocolate cake = $57.  Plus lots and lots of wine.  I'd say it was worth it!

I have a meeting from 6a-9a tomorrow then I work from 10a-6p.  It's gonna be a long day and I have to get up at 4:30a to get ready.  So...I am going to get ready for bed!

But before I go...

Read this article and tell me what you think.  It happened in the town where I work and I hear that one of the people involved is a cousin of a "co-worker".

I will post my thoughts tomorrow.  I don't want to say what I am thinking and influence your train of thought before you even read the article or get a chance to really think it out.

  1. That story reminds me of a guy I went to high school with. He ran over and killed 2 men after a fight in a parking lot. The men he killed were innocent bystanders. I had seen him at AA meetings and he admitted to an increibly serious drug problem so I'm assuming he was out of his mind high. His sentencing is coming up an he can get the death penalty.

I'm guessing this guy was drunk/high. So sad he killed that woman. So senseless.

  2. I just read the article - so pointless and so sad. Sometimes I honestly don't know what people are thinking! :(

  3. Like my sister said, he was probably either on drugs or drunk or both. That's no excuse though. I can't believe he would turn around and try to run them over again! And then no one in the car called 911. It's very sad, but it's obvious from his criminal record/past that he has SERIOUS issues and should not be on the streets.
