Windows

We have a wall in our living room with 4 windows on it (it takes up the entire wall).  To the right of the windows is our fireplace, which is in the corner.  The blinds do a good job of giving privacy, but they do not block enough of the sunlight.  Right now I am sitting in the recliner next to the windows and the sun is so bright that it is hard to see the screen on the laptop.  It also makes it difficult to watch the tv sometimes with the sun coming in.  I don't know what to do for curtains.  Do I buy for each window?  Do a long curtain rod over the top and then hang something?  I have no idea at all.  We have lived here for 4 years and still do not have blinds because I don't know what to do!  Do you have any ideas?  Do you have any friends/blogger friends who are good at decorating - can you forward this on?

  1. If it were me, i'd buy curtains and hang them from a rod and go all the way down to the floor. I've seen some really cute ones at Pier1 for a reasonable price. As for placement, i would put a curtain on each end and then one in the middle. The one in the middle you could bunch up so you could then stretch it covering the two inner windows. And the ones on the ends could stetch and cover the two outer windows. Hope that makes sense. I like being able to block light, so that's how i would do it. But i'm not an interior decorator, so you probably want other opinions :) How are you feeling? Been dying for a baby update, but i'll take a curtain/window update...haha.
