Good afternoon! This is my first time doing ICLW. I haven't been very good about blogging lately but with IVF #2 coming up, I will be having much more to write about.
So, today I will start with just introducing myself for any people who are stopping by to check me out. :)
I am 30 years old. My husband, J, and I have been married for four years. We have been together for 11 years. He is currently in Afghanistan for a one year deployment. He will be back in August, so I have 9 months left. Boo!
We have been trying to have a baby for four years now. We have done everything from timed intercourse with clomid to IVF. Nothing has worked. I have PCOS and J has low counts, bad morphology, etc. I am currently starting IVF #2. We timed it so that if t works, J will be home in time for the birth. I am using a new doctor this time around and am excited at the difference in his protocol compared to the first doctor. But I'm also trying not to get to excited because it makes it that much harder if it doesn't work. I have been doing lupron shots for a week now and stopped birth control pills last night. I have my baseline on Wednesday and start menopur & bravelle (9 vials!!!) on Friday.
Another part of my life is weight loss, but you won't be reading about much of that lately. I have gained 120 pounds since meeting my husband in 1999. That's ridiculous. I want so badly to lose the weight but it's so hard. I do well for a few weeks and then fall right back into my old patterns. During IVF, I won't be doing much exercising but want to try eating better. I haven't been doing well with my food for a while now but really want to start again. We'll see....

Thank you for stopping by my blog! It looks like your cycle is right behind mine! I am on suprefact for down regulation (I am suppressed now) and I am taking Puregon as a stimulant but will also be taking repronex begining tomorrow (which is menopur i believe). Best of luck to you in this cycle!!
ReplyDeleteYou're very brave to go through IVF while your husband is away. It sounds like it was a practical decision, based upon his planned return in August, but still, it takes guts. I hope that you have a strong support system around you, people to share the ups and downs with, but if not, please keep blogging and if you are on twitter, tweeting. The online IF community is caring and helpful, even to the extent that if you want support for weight loss it will be there. I'm not TTC, but I do need to lose weight healthily and with very moderate exercise, so if you want a buddy for mutual support, contact me through my blog please and I will be happy to do that with you. Best of luck with your IVF.

Hello from another Army Wife--although my hubby is stateside. Sending you lots of good vibes for this IVF. I'm with Lisa Marsh--you are a strong woman to do with while he is deployed! Then again, it takes a special kind of woman to be married to the military ;)
ReplyDeleteMuch love!

Stopping by for ICLW! I'm a fellow Army Wife who is also going through infertility issues (PCOS). I can relate to how hard it is to try and work on having a baby when you have a husband who comes and goes all the time. I wish you the best of luck on your upcoming IVF.
ReplyDeleteHope this cycle goes perfectly for you and that you're husband arrives home in time for a wonderful present :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy ICLW
